Soft Cupping Massage

A soft cupping massage is a therapeutic treatment that involves the use of silicone or rubber cups to create a gentle suction on the skin. This technique is aimed at promoting circulation, relieving muscle tension, and improving overall relaxation.

The cups are placed on specific areas of the body, creating a vacuum-like effect that can help to increase blood flow and release tension in the muscles.

Soft cupping massage is known for its soothing and rejuvenating effects, and it’s often used as a complementary therapy alongside other massage techniques.  It can be effectively combined for a deep tissue treatment, releasing areas of muscular tension.

FAQs

Here are the most frequently asked questions about massage treatments. If you have any other questions do feel free to reach out via the contact page.

Massage therapy is a hands-on technique that involves applying pressure, kneading, and manipulating the muscles, tendons, ligaments, and soft tissues of the body. It is commonly used to promote relaxation, relieve tension, reduce stress, and alleviate muscle pain and discomfort.

Massage therapy may offer numerous benefits, including stress reduction, pain relief, improved circulation, increased range of motion, enhanced mental clarity, and relaxation. It may also help in reducing anxiety, promoting better sleep, and boosting overall well-being.

Anyone can benefit from a massage, regardless of age or occupation. Whether you're experiencing muscle tension from sitting at a desk all day, recovering from an injury, or simply looking to relax and unwind, massage therapy can provide relief and improve your overall physical and mental health.

You should undress to your comfort level. Most people prefer to undress to their underwear, but you can choose to wear loose-fitting clothing and be treated through that (e.g. for a Seated Chair Massage). Kerry is trained to ensure your privacy and will only uncover the specific body part being worked on.

Upon booking you will have completed a Consultation Form giving Kerry details of your health history and treatment aim.  At the start of your first massage session, Kerry will chat with you briefly to understand any specific concerns and your goals for the massage. She will then explain the process, provide privacy for you to undress, and guide you through the session. Remember to communicate your preferences and any discomfort you may feel during the massage.

Massage therapy should not be painful. While some techniques may apply pressure or involve deeper work, it should always be within your comfort level. It's important to communicate with your massage therapist about your preferences and any discomfort you may feel during the session.

The frequency of massage sessions depends on your individual needs and goals. For general relaxation and stress relief, a monthly or bi-monthly massage may suffice. However, if you're seeking therapeutic benefits or have specific concerns, Kerry may recommend more frequent sessions.
