Foot Reflexology

Foot reflexology is a complementary therapy that focuses on applying pressure to specific points on the feet to promote relaxation and encourage healing responses in corresponding areas of the body. This practice is based on the belief that different areas of the feet are connected to various organs, glands, and systems within the body.

During a foot reflexology session, Kerry uses her fingers, thumbs, and hands to apply targeted pressure to the reflex points on the feet. By doing so, she aims to stimulate energy flow, improve circulation, and help the body’s natural healing mechanisms. Reflexology is intended to provide a holistic approach to well-being and relaxation.

Foot reflexology is often used as a way to relieve stress, enhance relaxation, and support overall health. It’s important to note that while many people find reflexology beneficial, it should not be considered a substitute for medical treatment. If you have specific health concerns, it’s recommended to consult with a healthcare professional.

FAQs

Here are the most frequently asked questions about reflexology treatments. If you have any other questions do feel free to reach out via the contact page.

Reflexology is a complementary therapy that involves applying pressure to specific areas of the feet, hands, or face. It is based on the principle that these areas correspond to organs and systems of the body. By stimulating these reflex points, reflexology aims to promote relaxation, improve circulation, and support the body's natural healing processes.

Reflexology has been known to provide numerous benefits, such as reducing stress and anxiety, relieving pain and tension, improving blood circulation, promoting better sleep, enhancing overall well-being, and supporting the body's natural healing abilities. It is also believed to help with specific conditions like headaches, digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, and more.

Reflexology is suitable for people of all ages, from babies to the elderly. It can benefit those seeking relaxation, stress relief, pain management, improved circulation, enhanced well-being, or support with specific health concerns. However, it is always advisable to consult with a healthcare professional if you have any underlying health conditions or concerns.

The frequency of reflexology sessions depends on your individual needs and goals. Some people find benefit from weekly sessions, while others may choose to have treatments less frequently. It is best to discuss this with Kerry, who can provide personalised recommendations based on your condition, response to treatment, and overall health.

Reflexology is generally a relaxing and gentle therapy. While you may experience some sensitivity or tenderness in certain areas, it should not be painful. It is important to communicate with Kerry about your comfort level, as she can adjust the pressure accordingly to ensure a comfortable experience.

What should I wear during a reflexology session? For a reflexology session, it is recommended to wear loose and comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your feet, hands, or face. Kerry provides your choice of a special reclining chair or massage table for your treatment. Depending on your treatment aim and needs, Kerry will guide you on what is most appropriate for your session.

During your first reflexology session, Kerry will begin by discussing your medical history, current health concerns, and any specific goals you may have. She will then guide you to a comfortable position and proceed to apply pressure to the reflex points on your feet, hands, or face. The session will be tailored to your individual needs, and you are encouraged to communicate any sensations or feedback you experience throughout the treatment. After the session, Kerry may provide recommendations for self-care or follow-up sessions based on her assessment
